“I just reviewed Governor Mills’ statement on the supplemental budget. It’s clear that legislative Democrats are pushing forward with a move that is both politically excessive and unnecessary. It’s disappointing to see them pressure the Governor, who is out of state, into joining their efforts.
Let me be clear: it is the Republicans who are defending the provisions this Governor originally included in the budget. We will not be intimidated. We will remain firm in our commitment to the people of Maine and continue to demand fiscal responsibility.”
