Republican Leaders Call for Secretary of State Shenna Bellows to Resign
Letter cites failure to prioritize her job responsibilities over partisanship and her campaign
(Augusta, ME) — Maine’s Republican legislative leaders have called on Secretary of State Shenna Bellows to resign. In a letter sent to Bellows, they cited her refusal to cooperate with federal authorities, failures to comply with the National Voter Registration Act, and serious public safety concerns following the recent Lewiston tragedy involving a non-citizen driver.
The letter, signed by Senate Republican Leader Trey Stewart, House Republican Leader Billy Bob Faulkingham, Assistant House Republican Leader Katrina Smith, and Assistant Senate Republican Leader Matthew Harrington, is attached.
