State Representative, House District 136

Limerick, Parsonsfield, and part of Waterboro

Representative David “Dave” Woodsome of Waterboro is currently serving his first term representing House District 139, which includes the towns of Limerick, Parsonsfield, and part of Waterbro.  He serves on the 131st Legislature’s Joint Standing Committees on Environment and Natural Resources, as well as the Inland Fisheries and Wildlife Committee.  Mr. Woodsome previously served four terms in the Maine State Senate.

Rep. Woodsome earned his degree from the University of Maine in 1969.  He is a retired high school educator who taught social studies and history at Massabesic High School, and physical education and health at Fryeburg Academy until his retirement in 2014.  During his time teaching, he also coached football and wrestling.

Rep. Woodsome has spent many years serving his community.  He was Selectman for three years and Chairman of the Recycling-Transfer Station.  He has also been a member of the Charter Commission, Road Review Committee, Waterboro Republic Caucus, Waterboro Historical Society, Sanford Elks Club, Government Relations, and the Spring Social Club.

Dave enjoys spending his free time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and farming.  He has a true passion to helping people and his fellow community members.
