Rep. Abden Simmons was elected in a special election to represent District 45: Bremen, Friendship, Waldoboro, Washington and Louds Island. Simmons previously served in the 128th Legislature as a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Marine Resources.

Rep. Simmons is a commercial fisherman by trade. He has served as a member of the Waldoboro Select Board for eight years and is Chairman of the town’s Shellfish Committee. Previously, he served on the Planning Board, the Software Advisory Council and as Director of the Maine Elver Fisherman’s Association. He has also been a member of the Maine Department of Marine Resources’ Advisory Council. 

Abden lives in Waldoboro with his wife April. They have one son, Dalton. In his spare time, Rep. Simmons loves hunting, fishing and snowmobiling.
