Representative Tammy Schmersal Burgess of Mexico is currently serving her first term in the Maine House representing District 77, the towns of Livermore (Part), Canton, Dixfield, Hartford, Mexico, and Peru. Tammy is a member of the Joint Standing Committee on Environment and Natural Resources.

Rep. Schmersal-Burgess is a barber and stylist who owns and operates her own small business in Mexico. An active sportswoman, Tammy is a member of the National Rifle Association, the Sportsmans Alliance of Maine, and the Webb River Valley Sportsman Club. Tammy also serves her community as a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, Mexico Historical Society, and the American Legion. She volunteers at the River Valley Recreational Center.

Rep. Schmersal-Burgess is a graduate of Mexico High School and the Mr. Richards Hair Academy.
