Representative Robert Nutting of Oakland is currently serving his tenth, non-consecutive, term in the Maine House. He represents District 66, which includes the towns of Oakland, Mercer, Smithfield, Starks, and part of Sidney.
Rep. Nutting serves as the Ranking Member on the 132nd Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety as well. In the 131st Legislature, he served on that committee and on the Joint Standing Committee on Health Coverage, Insurance, and Financial Services. Rep. Nutting had the honor of serving as Speaker of the House in the 125th Legislature. He has also previously served on Joint Standing Committees on: Banking and Insurance, Health and Human Services, Labor and Housing, Transportation, and Appropriations and Financial Affairs.
Rep. Nutting earned his B.S. in Pharmacy from Massachusetts College and is a retired pharmacist. He is a member of the Oakland Lions Club and is serving his sixth, non-consecutive, term on the Oakland Town Council.
Robert and his wife, Wendy, have three children and five grandchildren. In his spare time he enjoys playing golf, woodworking, hunting and gardening at his home.
