Rep. Dan Costain

State Representative, House District 33

Dixmont, Etna, Newport, Plymouth, and Corinna

Representative Dan Costain of Plymouth is currently serving his third term representing District 33, which includes the towns of Dixmont, Etna, Newport, Plymouth, and Corinna.  He currently serves on the 131st Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Agriculture, Conservation, and Forestry.  For the previous two terms, Costain served on the Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety.

Rep. Costain graduated from Old Town High School before joining the Maine Air National Guard. His eight years of service in the Guard was in Security and Law Enforcement.  Mr. Costain is a graduate of the Maine Criminal Justice Academy and worked as a police officer for more than 30 years. Danny has also been a real estate agent, as well as the owner of several small businesses.  Rep. Costain also serves his local community as a member of the Free Mason’s, Anah Shriners, and the Belted Galloway Society.

Danny and his wife, Lanci, have two children; Joshua and Ashley.  In his free time, he enjoys piloting, boating, shooting, cattle farming, and ATV riding.
