Rep. Elizabeth Caruso is an experienced leader dedicated to serving her community in various capacities. Currently serving as the Somerset County Broadband Director for Somerset Economic Development Corporation and in conjunction with the Maine Connectivity Authority, she plays a vital role in advancing broadband access and digital equity for rural communities. Additionally, Elizabeth holds the elected position of First Selectman for the Town of Caratunk and has worked for 19 years to ensure the town thrives through responsible governance and community engagement.
Her background also includes service as an industrial engineer, ergonomic engineering consultant and small business owner.
As a Registered Maine Whitewater Guide, she enjoys the outdoors and is deeply connected to Maine’s natural beauty. Elizabeth previously owned a small business that specialized in rafting, lodging and outfitting.
She is a member of the Maine Municipal Association’s Legislative Policy Committee, the Sportsman Alliance of Maine, and is on the Board of Directors of Old Canada Road.
A graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI), Elizabeth combines her technical background with a passion for public service. She has a B.S. Degree in Industrial Engineering and an MBA from RPI.
Elizabeth is also an active member of the Kingdom of Life Church, where she is involved in various local initiatives. She and her husband, Greg, have two children, Jeremy and Christopher. Together they are committed to making a positive impact in their community.
