Representative Donald Ardell of Monticello is serving his first term representing District 6, which includes the towns of Castle Hill, Central Aroostook, Chapman, Mapleton, Oxbow North Township, Blaine, Bridgewater, Dyer Brook, Hammond, Hersey, Littleton, Mars Hill, Merrill, Monticello, Moro Plantation, Smyrna, Westfield, and E Township. He currently serves on the 131st Legislature’s Joint Standing Committee on Criminal Justice and Public Safety.
Rep. Ardell spent his career as a federal special agent and criminal investigator from 1996-2021. He worked in many different departments and agencies including the U.S. Immigration & Naturalization, U.S. Customs Service, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency Aroostook Task Force. From 2011-2013, Rep. Ardell was a Homeland Security Investigations Representative assigned to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
Rep. Ardell earned his BA in both Criminology and Fine Arts from the State University of New York, Plattsburgh in 1995. He serves his local community as a member of the Knights of Columbus and the Monticello Fish and Game Club, where he enjoys spending his free time outdoors, hunting and fishing.
