Representative Costain Announces Local Projects in Maine DOT Work Plan

AUGUSTA – State Representative Danny Costain (R-Plymouth) is pleased to announce that the Maine Department of Transportation (MDOT) Work Plan for Calendar Years 2022, 2023 and 2024 is available. The estimated value of work in the plan totals more than 2,316 individual work items with a total value of $3.17 billion. This represents a substantial increase from last year due to anticipated federal funding.

The MDOT Work Plan for House District 100 includes $8.2 million for seven projects, including:

  • Newport highway, safety spot, and culvert improvements on Route 2 in Newport.
  • Crocker Brook Bridge replacement in Dixmont, and
  • Mulligan Stream Bridge replacement on Nokomis Road in Corinna.

“Maine needs to allocate more resources our roads, bridges and transportation system,” said Rep. Costain. “This year, additional federal dollars who will help MDOT offset the unprecedented cost increases we all are experiencing. I am pleased to see several projects scheduled in our area over the next three years. I’m currently working with MDOT to initiate other projects in the Town of Plymouth.”

The full work plan, searchable by municipality, is available at the Maine Department of Transportation’s website: https://www.maine.gov/mdot/projects/workplan/search/ .
