Bill to lower electric bills to be heard today
STATE HOUSE– State Representative Steven Foster’s bill to lower electric bills will be heard today. LD 1321, “An Act to Reform Net Energy Billing by Establishing Limitations on the Programs’ Duration and Compensation” is scheduled for Public Hearing before the Committee on Energy, Utilities, and Technology.
“Consumer electric bills are artificially high due to state energy policies associated with net energy billing,” said Rep. Foster. “Our elderly citizens, low-income ratepayers, and small business owners are unnecessarily burdened by a program that benefits out of state companies, and groups pushing a flawed climate agenda. My bill will lower energy bills for all Mainers and make living and working in Maine a little more affordable.”
