“The state needs to address the serious problem of heating costs. In the short term, we can use over collected taxpayer funds to provide relief to people that are struggling to pay their bills. In the long-term, Maine energy policies need to be reviewed, eliminating policies that drive up costs.
Aroostook is a county that gets colder sooner, and has a longer heating season. Many of our constituents have already used up their annual heating budget. We want the Legislature to address this pressing issue as soon as possible.”
